One of the most destructive things you can do financially is to live in an “if-only” way. It is to live in such a way where you always wish you were somebody else. If only I had this amount in my bank account, if only I had opportunity, if only I had this job, if only, then I can give my tithes and offering — then I can be generous. The Law dictates what you are supposed to give. It does not say, “give 10% if only you have x-amount of income.” Whatever income bracket you are, you are commanded to give your tithes and offering.

Both boils down to faith. Both comes down to the grace you see that you have in the Lord. Don’t look at your circumstance for your ability to follow the Law of the Lord. Look to the grace of God.

Do you really believe that God gives you everything you need in life? If you believe the Word of God, then giving would not be an issue for you. If you are selective in what you accept from the Bible, then this is when you’ll have problems.
