You must release forgiveness to the person or group that wounded you in the past. If there are grudges you’re holding on to, the prophetic flow will be blocked. They are blocked by unforgiveness. Jesus himself said that when you stand praying and you hold anything against anyone, you must forgive the person first so your Father in heaven may forgive you of your sins (Mk. 11:25).
When we desire to obtain justice and we refuse to forgive, it can chain us to an event, and prevent us from making progress in our prophetic gift. Through prayer, speak out your forgiveness. Declare the release of your offenders from judgment, and from any debt that you believe they owe you. Only you can do this for yourself. No one else can set you free from this self-made prison. Ask the Holy Spirit for grace and wisdom. Sometimes, God will lead you to communicate with this person or group who last hurt you. However, it is not always necessary. Wait for the Holy
Spirit to lead you. Use discretion here and look for wise counsel for your next move. Remember, forgiveness is not a feeling. Don’t wait until you “feel” you can forgive. Forgiveness is a choice God expects you to make because He has forgiven you for so much more. Moreover, forgiveness is not a one-time thing. It’s an ongoing process. It means continuing to choose forgiveness wherever you feel the hurt or the negative effects of the situation.
