The biblical way of knowing one’s future as a believer is called enupnion, the seed form method, which is a perception that comes as a result of your spiritual growth and perception in God. Every believer who walks with the Lord experiences this.In Ac. 2:17, old men shall “enupnion.” In the Old Testament, you will see old patriarchs with the ability to prophesy. Usually, as they are giving their last blessings to the next generation, they move into a prophetic utterance. How do they do it? Old men are epunion. The emphasis here is that the old man is perceiving, rather than sleeping because usually “dreams” emphasize on sleeping.

In the Book of Genesis, we see some of these old men enupnion or move into the lowest level of prophetic utterance that comes as a result of spiritual age. In Gen. 48:8, Jacob, whose name is Israel, is in his old age. He had known the Lord to a certain extent in his life. His life was full of sorrow, but some of them were filled with joy. As Israel walked with the Lord and matured in his faith, he was able to operate in the Spirit of prophecy.

All his children are now in the land of Egypt. Joseph was the ruler over that area and Israel knew the time will come when he will pass away. He was an old man physically, and in the spiritual. In Genesis 48, Israel met with Joseph and his grandchildren. In verse 10, Scripture noted how the eyes of Israel were dimmed with age and so he could not see. In verses 13 to 14, Israel stretched out his hands and he crossed them as he began to bless them. It says here that Joseph even tried to “correct” his father by guiding Israel’s hand, because Israel laid his hand on Ephraim’s head, even when he was the younger one. However, Israel prophetically placed the stronger blessing on Ephraim who was younger. This act displeased Joseph, but Israel was moving in the prophetic realm. He sensed that something strong was coming out of Ephraim. Just by being in the presence of his grandsons, he predicted their future epunion.

He sensed that something strong was coming out of Ephraim. Just by being in the presence of his grandsons, he predicted their future.

Usually, a word like this was a word of wisdom. However, the context of this prophetic act was at the point when Israel was going home to the Father. Israel tapped into the enupnion, which was the product of a person’s spiritual age and growth. A person can move in the first degree of the Spirit of prophecy and begin to perceive the future based on their spiritual growth in God and their ability to see further than those in the younger generation.
