For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)

What is bringing darkness into your life? There was a time when the whole world was in dark abyss. God caused the light to shine. In the midst of darkness, it was God who spoke light into existence (Gen. 1:3). God is the source of all the light and without Him no light would exist. He is the fullness of light and there is no darkness in Him (1 Jn. 1:5).

As believers, Jesus calls us the “light” of the world. As Jesus is the light, we can be the light, because we are created in his image and likeness. Jesus did not say, “Turn on your light.” He said to allow your light to simply shine. Do we allow our light to shine in this world?
