Prophetic declarations are made throughout the bible, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These declarations are made specifically to see God’s will come to pass. In Ezekiel 36 and 37, we see biblical accounts of prophetic levels.

I had concern for my holy name, which the people of Israel profaned among the nations where they had gone.

“Therefore, say to the Israelites, ‘This is what

the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake,

people of Israel, that I am going to do these things,

but for the sake of my holy name, which you

have profaned among the nations where you have

gone. I will show the holiness of my great name,

which has been profaned among the nations, the

name you have profaned among them. Then the

nations will know that I am the Lord, declares

the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy

through you before their eyes.

“‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will

gather you from all the countries and bring you

back into your own land. (Ezekiel 36:21-24,

emphasis added)

The context of this word was set at a process of scattering that occurred among God’s people. Satan knows how to scatter us and to draw us into his process of division and dispersion. Even though Israel (as represented by the bones in the next chapter), had been spread out, God was going to gather them back together for His glory. God gave Ezekiel a prophetic revelation of Israel’s prophetic destiny. The prophet was tasked to declare it to come to pass. Read this declaration below, and we’ll examine them in-depth in this blog and in the weeks to come.

The Valley of Dry Bones

The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought

me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in

the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led

me back and forth among them, and I saw a great

many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that

were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can

these bones live?”

I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones

and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of

the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says

to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and

you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you

and make flesh come upon you and cover you

with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will

come to life. Then you will know that I am the

Lord.’” (Ezekiel 37:1-6)

In the prophetic word above, there are four levels of prophetic declaration that can be identified. This prophetic declaration is an example of how the process of prophetic fulfillment unfolds. It can be observed that on each level of prophetic declaration, there is a place where prophetic fulfillment can delay. Recognizing the process helps us reach the next level of prophetic fulfillment.
