The “victim mindset” creates in people an attitude of resignation and resentment for others. It causes them to complain and grumble about things that we can actually provide solutions for.

1. Know the Power of Your Mind

A significant approach to maximizing the source of information is understanding the biology behind inspiration. There is a scientific explanation for being inspired. As you may probably know, inspiration is not a rational or a logical thing. It is based on feelings. You cannot really explain why you are inspired. You can try to articulate it, but you won’t ever accurately describe why you are inspired.

2. Respect Your Biological Design
Your rational thoughts and language are formed in the neocortex portion of your brain. On the other hand, your emotional mind is the limbic brain. It is the part of your brain where emotions and decision-making are formed. So, while you are capable of processing information, there is no guarantee that rational thinking can lead you into action. Biology tells us that when you are emotionally moved, then this is when your actions and behaviors are influenced.

3. Contribute to the Greater Good

Inspiration is multiplied significantly when your cause benefits the world. If you are only after personal gain, you will rarely inspire others. When you want to inspire another person, you think about how your influence can benefit them. How does the action or behavior you want these people to have impact their lives positively?
Inspiration does not come when you are coercing other people. You have to connect with them. You have to relate your cause, vision, or belief in such a way that it speaks to their own cause, vision, or belief in life. Inspiration is greatly magnified when you want to serve the greater good. In Master Prophet E. Bernard Jordan’s e-book, “10 Commandments of Maximizing the Source of Inspiration,” you will read and learn ways on how to be an inspiration to other people.

4. Be Trustworthy

You cannot build trust without doing anything. It requires action. Talk without action leads only to distrust. This is what you call a lack of integrity. The bible shows the link between trust and action: “Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him, and He will act.” Trusting and acting always go together. People who trust you will move and behave in ways that will benefit you.
Maximizing inspiration requires people who trust you. If you want people to trust you, you must make things happen. You must honor your commitments. When you’re all talk and no action, it will be hard for people to trust and follow you.
People are inspired by action. How many times have you heard a person do a heroic act and you’re inspired to at least be a nicer person — and you are inspired to trust in humanity again? If your “why” is strong enough, do something, and it will inspire others to do the same.

5. Be Creative

More and more people feel stuck in their tasks and their performance suffer because of it. How can you unleash the creativity of your team through inspiration? Many leaders are so out of touch and disconnected with their team, focusing solely on their personal agendas. When you implement a “one-size-fits-all” approach to “inspire” people, you will definitely fall short.
Inspire with purpose, not just profit. Knowing that their hard work makes a difference beyond profitability inspires people. People want leaders who see beyond the obvious and look to create wider reaching impact that extends into the community and influences social causes.

6. Inspire Others

Leaders should know the “ingredients”, not just the recipe. The secret recipe to inspiring employees is knowing the ingredients of the people you are inspiring. People want to know that their leaders understand who they are. When you spend time with your people, make it matter. Not spending time with them, barking out orders or being preoccupied with your phone and expecting your time and title to inspire them is a big mistake.

7. Involve Others.

People want to create impact. Allow them to be part of the innovation-based projects in your team by letting their hands get dirty. On the other side of the spectrum, ideation is important, but being part of making the vision come to life is more meaningful and inspiring for them.

How are you an inspiration in your sphere of influence? I would love to read your thoughts.
